Why every serious crepe maker switches to carbon steel.

Nonstick pans were never built for high heat. Carbon steel was. It’s the pan French creperies have used for over a century — and the reason their crepes come out paper-thin every single time.

Nonstick / Aluminum

  • Coating flakes into your food after 6–12 months
  • Heats unevenly — burnt edges, raw middle
  • Warps on high heat
  • Replace it every year

ELMNT 726 Carbon Steel

  • Develops a natural nonstick seasoning that gets better with every use
  • Heats fast and even — crepes set in seconds
  • Built for high heat, never warps
  • Lasts a lifetime — the pan you pass down to your kids

Built for one job. Built to do it perfectly.

12" & 14" cooking surfaces

Wide, flat surface designed exactly for crepes — with plenty of room for pancakes, tortillas, and dosas too.

Even heat distribution

Heavy-gauge carbon steel transfers heat evenly across the entire surface. No hot spots. No burnt edges.

Natural non-stick patina

Arrives unseasoned by design so you build a pure, natural nonstick surface that gets better with every use. No PFAS, no PTFE, no chemicals.

Common questions about carbon steel.

Is carbon steel hard to maintain?

Easier than you think. Rinse with hot water, wipe dry, rub a little oil on it. That’s it. Don’t use soap or the dishwasher. The natural nonstick “seasoning” builds up the more you cook, so the pan literally gets better with use.

Will it rust?

Only if you leave it wet. Dry it after washing and lightly oil it before storing — same routine as a cast iron pan. With basic care, it’ll never rust.

What size should I get?

Our 12" CrepePro ($75) is the classic French crepe size and light enough to handle one-handed, while our 14" nitrogen-infused 726 Pan ($150) is ideal for oversized crepes, tortillas, and family cooking.

Does it work on induction, gas, and electric?

Yes — all three. Carbon steel is magnetic, so it works perfectly on induction, and it handles the high heat of gas burners without warping.
